The Company
The company was founded in December 2006 by Tony Clothier and Guy Laister. We provide technical consulting services, specific to the water and environmental sectors of engineering. Most of our work is carried out in the support of planning applications for the re-development of sites, or to dismiss planning conditions, but we are also frequently consulted to provide advice regarding drainage, water resources, flooding and environmental issues on existing sites. Projects range from small-scale single house developments for private developers up to large-scale developments for business parks, or residential estates with several hundred homes. We frequently provide specialist technical support for larger consultancies and are involved in some major government projects. Although we are based in London, our service covers all of the UK.
We pride ourselves in the formation of good working relationships with clients and suppliers. Our clientele are predominantly private-sector developers whom we have served for several years and who provide us with a regular source of work. Our clients have become reliant upon our responsive and candid approach to flood risk and other environmental issues, often saving them substantial sums on developments or land deals.
If you would like to discuss the development of your site and see how our team can help you, please get in touch.
The Team
The Water Environment team are highly-qualified engineers and scientists, with extensive experience of working in flood risk and environmental engineering, and a diverse range of specialisms including; hydrology, hydraulic modelling, drainage, hydrogeology and air quality. We are always interested to hear from potential candidates as our business grows. Please see our careers page for further information.
In many cases, our engineers have undertaken detailed research projects and their work is published in refereed journals and conference proceedings. Details of these publications are shown on the publications page and include rainfall modelling using weather radar, odour dispersion modelling from landfill sites and development of a hydrological model for agricultural catchments. We are happy to discuss the continuation of any of these research projects, or to assist in similar research projects.
