Floodplain Compensation Strategies

For any loss in floodplain storage as a result of development or change in landscape, compensatory storage must be provided. We can provide the strategy and design for this floodplain compensation and we will agree this with the Environment Agency.

Compensation must be provided for development any new buildings, or any raised ground, within the floodplain. This must be freely floodable and free draining, and will require compensation calculations to ensure that storage is replaced on a level-for-level and volume-for-volume basis. We can undertake all ground modelling and calculations for your site, presenting a full strategy to the Environment Agency.
